My son has been at Magill for 4 years now. He is in the 3rd grade this year. Although school has only been about 5 or 6 weeks now, I'm really happy with his teacher. She is on top if things and very responsive to my sons needs and my questions. Communication is KEY with today's curriculum requirements! However, last school year was a NIGHTMARE!!! His teacher was very nice as a person, BUT she did NOT help my son excel! She was very unorganized and non responsive to my concerns. Getting a report card and seeing a failing grade when I didn't know he was struggling is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I had to call administration and request a meeting. A teacher is everything to a student and I hold Magill at fault. The administration hates the principal and a lot of parents don't care for her either. Ms. Collins does not have a good reputation. She has not affected me at all or my son. Also, the teachers raise their voices too much at the students, even in front of the parents. Especially on car pool line! Just my opinion. Some teachers should not be teachers And some are meant to be teachers. But raising voices should not be allowed except under extreme circumstances.

My kids have gone to this school for four years. The staff are friendly and firm with the kids, without being too strict. The teachers are experienced with many years of teaching. Test scores aren't their first priority. They believe in teaching respect, social order, and treating others kindly. Many kids here are learning English as their second language and so there isn't as much parental involvement in homework, which may translate into lower test scores as well. Overall the kids are positive about their experience and have made lots of great friends.

Teachers are very good , less of a strong p t a than hoped Teachers care. Test scores may not reflect best of students. Overall good school. I think better than an "5" more like 7 or 8! Front staff nice. Sadly some major staff turn over, but new staff seem nice and willing to go extra mile to help kids. My. Child has been there k,1 and now 2 no , overall we are very pleased. Parent portal and staff communication is good too.

This is an excellent school. I can't understand how the rating is only a 6 out of 10. I recently moved from out of state and had to stay with a family member while I was in search for a home. I was a little disappointed when I saw that the zoned school was a 6. We moved from an area where the school was a 9 out of 10. I didn't want my children's education to suffer. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The teachers here are excellent. Constantly pushing the children to learn more. My second grader loves his teacher. My other child is in Kindergarten and his teacher gives individualized homework based on the child which is great. Her goal is to get every child to at least the standard but if they can do more why not push them to the next level. The office staff is so friendly. Students are well behaved. I mean, what more can you ask for. A safe and friendly environment that provides the type of education that I've seen at higher rated schools. Magill has made an excellent first impression on the school system that I've seen down here in GA.

Both of grandchildren have attended Magill since they started public school. The oldest is finishing the 4th grade and the youngest is finishing the 2nd grade. They both are in the Focus program. We are thrilled with the all of the teachers they've had! Ms. McIlvaine and Ms. Jennings and they are both top notch! The Focus teachers are great as well! We will be moving out of state over the summer but I want to be sure to say thanks for the great experiences they've both had at Magill!

I love this school! My son has attended Magill since 1st grade and is now in the 4th, he loves this school as well. Every teacher he has had has been exceptional, caring, educated and positive. I only hope for that to continue his remainder time at Magill. Although the previous principal was not as effective with the parents I do hope the changes made will only be better for the school and community.

This was my sons first year at Magill. I found the school to be excellent in meeting his special needs as an autistic child. I thank Mrs. Rudolph and her team for working hard with him. I saw many positive changes in him that I never saw before. This was also the first year that he loved school. Again, thanks Magill.

My child has been at Magill since kindergaten. What once was a school of excellence has gone down hill due to overcrowded classrooms and teachers stretched so thin they don't have time for one on one with students. The rules change daily, students are confused and stressed. Their only focus is test scores and not the individual needs of students. Parental concerns often go unaddressed for weeks. The admin staff is too busy to get to know students and parents on a personal level.

My daughter has attended Magill for four years. We have seen many changes occur in this time. Some of these changes have been for the good and some not so good. I feel that Magill has always been a bit too large to really have a complete handle with children at this age. With the opening of Rosebud I thought the relief would be good but we only lost 400 students so I see the number of students increasing back quickly and the need for trailers becoming a need in the next year or two again. We have experienced greatness in teaching and laziness and no concern which I believe you will find in every profession. This year we got lucky and our daughters teacher is wonderful. The PTA is great and there are always events to keep the parents and children involved which is a plus!!!

My daughter is in the 3rd grade at magill and is doing great. The teachers are great, parents are very involved and this is a plus for the school, school is very organised and safety is a must for this school. My daughter did exceptionally well on the crtc so magill must be doing things right. This is the school to be in.
